This is now on my rotation to visit. I goto the gym at Better Bodies and stop once or twice a week. I was never a fan of Eastern Panda but this new management/owner is great. The service is great and the owner (Eileen i believe it is) really seems to care. They made some coconut shrimp and gave me for free also which was very nice. The best part though is if you sit in they make these very beautiful decorative birds, butterflys, etc. which I love. I think it's a nice touch which sets it apart from the other Chinese restaraunts around, plus it's very clean. Smile, cleanliness and little extra perks I rate this as my new favorite Chinese takeout. I really enjoyed the Crystal Chicken. The brown rice was actually perfect also! I actually like them more than Oriental Wok.

It is unfair that this place has to carry the reviews from its predecessor on this site. Eastern Panda it is not. It is now clean and inviting. The food portions havef grown by at least 25%. The hot and sour soup actually has flavor. I'm happy to see the change here.

Food was awesome. I was reluctant to try a new place but I was glad I did. We will be eating there on a regular basis.

Prompt service and good food. Only wish my meal would have came with some rice, though I am grateful that I got more of the actual mean.

Great cheap eat. Close to my work and I just get the Egg Drop soup.

Eastern Panda has had a tumultuous history in Northern KY, but I'm very optimistic about where its going. It is recently under new management and slowly but surely - it is turning around. They have a new menu, a new cook, and new staff - AND they're in the process of updating the space. The menu is traditional Chinese and it is better than it used to be - much more fresh veggies and more vibrant tastes, less sodium and bland cabbage. The physical menu is much brighter and offers a wider variety. The service is still friendly and very competant. Since EP had gone downhill the past few years - its not busy, so service is quick too. Yes - the decor and seating and space was very rundown. They're building it back up. They did just get new booth seating which was in very bad need of repair. My guess is they'll continue to update as business picks back up. I really want this business to succeed and now it seems they have the right things in place to make it happen. Give it a try if you've never been or give it a second try if you've stayed away recently!

I live right up the street from this place and I think it's great! The food is always good quality and fast. I can call for carryout, get in my car and by the time I get there it's ready for pick-up in less than 10 minutes. The price is not bad either. Lunch is usually around $5, which I found really cheap and dinner is around $10. Some may not like dining in. My first experience with Eastern Panda was dining-in and I'll admit I was a little set-back by the torn booth seats, crumbling wallpaper. Don't judge a book by it's cover, though! There was still good service and good food!

While Oriental Wok has the market cornered on high-end Chinese cuisine, Eastern Panda is where you go for quick and cheap carry out. It's dark and kind of dingy, but the food is great classic American Chinese, and always super quick and friendly with the order. I hope they do a steady carry out business, because I rarely if ever see anyone dine in. It's definitely more of a carry out kind of place, for sure, and I highly recommend it for those nights when you don't feel like cooking and need something more substantial than a Chipotle salad. Once again, parking in this shopping center is the pits, but there's usually a "retail only" spot open right in front of the restaurant front. And a call-in order usually takes less than ten minutes, so it's not like it really matters much, either.

My mother always said if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Well too bad mom, I'm going to anyway. In short, I do not care for Eastern Panda. It happens to be extraordinarily convenient for me, so I've given it its fair shake. One of the good things I can say about it is that they are a touch cheaper than other Chinese places, but the food is not as good. I think I'm in the same position as Ryan B. Many of my friends like it, and I don't know what they're smoking. All of his concerns are valid, and I'd also throw in that their pad thai is not very good. The restaurant itself is a little run down, although everyone there seems very nice. But you go to a restaurant to eat, so I put a bit of weight on the taste of the food. And unfortunately, it just isn't there. Sorry Eastern Panda. If you're looking for Chinese takeout, there are many better options.

I've tried this place several times, wanting badly to like it since my friends do. But it's never going to happen. The place is run down, which doesn't necessarily signal horrible food. And the food isn't horrible, it's just not that great. The rice is dried out, the egg rolls are too salty and the pad thai does not look or taste like pad thai. The moo shu pork is edible. But I won't return for it or anything else on the menu. Sorry Eastern Panda, I gave it my best.

I live up the street from this place and the well-known Oriental Wok. While Oriental Wok is my go-to for sit down, classy service, Eastern Panda is my everyday Chinese spot. Their food is inexpensive, delicious and fast. No MSG. Fresh ingredients. Awesome employees. The woman who usually takes my carryout order is also the bartender. She always has a smile on her face. The restaurant itself has a cozy, personal feel to it, all the way down to the worn booths. Love this place. Their kung pao chicken is different from most interpretations too, slightly sweet and made with lots of water chestnuts. Check it out if you're in the area. It's just good.

I have to echo other reviews....very reasonable prices, atmosphere is dingy, some dishes decent like Moo Shu Pork. But had the Pork Lo Mein as recommended by employee and had an extremely strong MSG reaction (and the dish was stingy on the meat and vegetables). Like others, wish this place could pull it off, but now I am just too leary.

Food quality is good. Been coming for years , but the value has gone down. Almost $11 for something that should be $7 or $8.

At first glance, you might not notice anything special about this little restaurant tucked away in a strip mall off Buttermilk Pike. The interior is nothing to write home about, except for some very sizable fish, and the menu stars the typical Americanized food found in most Chinese restaurants. However, don't let these humble surroundings turn you away. The owner and his family run the place and are super friendly. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. One thing you have to try is the crab rangoon. Take my word for it, it's the best crab rangoon EVER.

Have lived down the street from this place my whole life and had been on a quest for great Chinese food for about two years before I ever dined here. I was surprised, the food was great. They have lunch specials for around 5 bucks which come with a soup. The dinners are 7-8 bucks. The dining room is small and local, sort of weird actually but the food is great and I usually get carry out. The best Chinese food in Northern Kentucky and it comes in second when matched against similar Cincinnati Chinese restaurants.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
